I don't know what's confusing about my post.

My (sarcastic) point was how come people rave about their rainsuits but they don't show up at bike nights when the forecast calls for rain?

Also, when the conditions are such that people worry about being seen by cagers, my point was that they should first and foremost worry about seeing. A car provides better visibility in the rain than a bike, it's obvious.

I prefer to stop when it rains hard and it's not because my rainsuit won't keep me dry, and it's not because I'm afraid I'm gonna be hit from behind either. It's because I can't see sh*t and I don't like to hit gravel, mud and water puddles on 2 wheels.

In answer to Frenchbiker.
I Prefer riding On non-rainy days, but I won't stay at home just because it might rain. I do carry a rain suit with me in case it does rain when I'm riding.
I don't know what you're calling "bike nights", but the only thing I know of around here that sounds like that, is what local restaurants and bars call bike nights. I don't go to them anyway, but if I did, I don't think I would suit up and ride 10 or so miles in the rain to sit and drink beer. I would probably skip that night if it were raining.

I don't go to bike night when it's raining. To me riding is supposed to be fun. Riding in the rain isn't, with or without rain gear. However if I'm going on a trip or a ride with the local HOG chapter I don't let the threat of rain keep me from going. I remember riding back from Lake George in the rain, 550mi. My son and I. Rained the whole way home. Even though we kept dry it was no fun. Plus there is the increased awareness you must maintain while riding in the rain, it wears on you after awhile. I think we had tourmaster raingear on that trip. I had a one piece suit. Looked good but never again. too hard to take off for a quick

I guess I must be the cheap bastard here. I spent $40 on a norman riggs set. Been using them for 3 years and they work great for me. Never considered by Harley. Just figured like most other things the dealership sells, they put their name on the same thing somebody else sells and then they double their price.

And to frenchbiker...I don't go to bike night when it's not raining. I won't leave my garage in the rain for a local ride but I will if I'm going a couple hundred miles or more. I will ride in the rain but I don't like to.

Cheap rain gear is just that..................Cheap rain gear which will leave you wet after a while.

Have used Frog Toggs, HD, and some other cheap no name stuff and prefer the HD rain gear hands down.

And I will add the Rain Gators HD sells are worth their weight in gold after a few hours in heavy rain.

H-D hi vis rain gear and rain gators. I had a a less expensive rain gear that kept me try for a while but eventually got wet after hours in the rain. I also noticed on a road trip that the riders with hi vis rain gear were a lot more visible going down the road which convinced me to buy a hi vis rain gear. and it fits better and keeps me dry.
