Default New noise

08 FLHX 30,000 miles

So I just started hearing a new whirring kind of noise coming from the primary/transmission area. The noise is there in neutral with the clutch in, or out and goes away when I put it in gear. Any ideas what it might be?

No ideas?

Would the tech section be a better place for this post?

Inner primary bearing mine wnet out at 18,000 mile on my 08 Ultra. Noise goes away with clutch engaged in neutral but is pretty loud noise with clutch out in neutral. ocal dealer repaired it parts and laor for 300.00simple job if you have the bearing race remover and installer.

Hmm......my noise goes away when it is in gear only, otherwise with the clutch in or out it's there.
