I am researching options for a sissy bar and luggage rack to hold something like a Kuryakyn Gran tour bag or T Bag while on road trips 2 up. I have a 2005 Road King with a Corbin touring seat that I will likely change to something else in the future.
At first I lied the Harley 4-Channel luggage rack / sissy bar combo but I have a aftermarket liceanse plate holder / LED tail light turn signal frame (see attached picture).
Now I am thinking a HD Standard hight sissy bar and Kuryakyn Standard luggage rack. http://www.jpcycles.com/product/840-315
Any other ideas or options?
Oh, and why is the weight rating of all the luggage racks I can find only 10lbs? That isn't much weight, half of that might be used by the weight of the luggage bag itself!
I have the standard HD rack and have been happy with it. The 10lb limit is for liability reasons. You can definitely get 3 to 4 times more than that on there. The rack mounts to the sissy bar so, your aftermarket plate holder shouldn't be an issue.
