11 SG that is stock. Averaging 45 2 up mostly with tour pack. I usually run 7 over speed limit.

Just back from a trip, getting 34 on the highway and was rarely going over 70 and never wound it over 4,000 rpms, just easy highway cruising. When I got it, it had a screamin eagle air cleaner insert on the air cover, the guy at the dealer told me you can only get those if you buy the carb kit, so I guess it has a screamin eagle kit in the carb. The plugs do look dark but the bike runs fine, no issues on our trip of 600 miles. Was my first road trip on a touring bike and we had a great time, just wish we could find some other people to ride with. Anyway, was just curious if the mileage was normal, maybe I will take it in to get it looked at.

I've got an 07 Ultra, before the mods I was getting about 33 in town and 35 on the highway......didn't seem right but had a local Indy dyno it and said it was correct.

Recently did the following mods: S&S 106, gear drive S&S 510 cam, adjustable pushrods, high volume oil pump, one size larger injectors, left the heads stock and I'm getting about 28 in town and 32-33 on the highway....had a different local Indy shop tell me that is what I should be at.....still think the mpg should be higher but for now I'm just riding the **** out of it and enjoying every minute! I'm not a tire burner but I also know where the throttle is......lol. Heading to Sturgis this year and that'll give me better idea of mileage.

My 1100 VStar Custom will get 7-9 better then my Harley and is quicker. Harleys are heavy and old school tech is not so efficent. I can get 40 on my Harley but thats 55 with a tail wind going down hill with the gas station fill up on top But the Custom sits looking lonely in the corner now. Harley's just smell better...

I get 38 - 42 depending on how I ride as well. I have a stage 1 upgrade and better pipes than stock. This is riding 2 up as well.

You should be doing better if this is highway mileage, not too bad if mostly city. A friend with a 2000 carbed WG got around 40mpg highway mileage until we upgraded his carb with a Thunderslide kit, and that bumped him to around 45mpg while also improving his performance. I had similar results (15% improvement) on my Evo RK years before that, but that bike routinely got >50mpg on the highway.

Yes, it was all highway miles doing about 65 mph, everytime I stopped to fill up I would check the mileage, was 34 to 35 mpg.

My 2011 FLHTK got between 32 mpg and 42 mpg on my last trip of 2200 miles. This was loaded down and with a passenger. It mostly depends on how you ride. The lowest was riding above the speed limit on the interstate, I'm almost embarrassed to say how fast at times. The highest was 45 - 60 mph enjoying curvy state highways, with a lot of it only reaching fifth gear. I stopped worrying about it and just ride however the road and my head feels at the time. Over the last 13k miles I have probably only averaged 35 mpg. I have V&H Dresser Duals, Rhinejarts, SE AC, and it is dyno'd. It could probably be tuned better it was done with a 1000 miles on it.
