Called the tuner that tweaked my RK June 20th, still have been experiencing the PING beast. So, it's nice out weather wise, but I think I will hold off until the shop can assess my tune on the 7-25. to ride.
The sound of someone firing a BB gun into a tincan does not thrill me when I twist the wick, and i am a little paranoid I suppose of causing damage to pistons etc., riding the bike with this happening.
Hopefully the tuner can pull out some timing and fix the issue. I do not have the SE tuner software, i would be lost trying to do any map mods myself.
Maybe, if i was running a power vision tuner I could get the issue fixed without having to spend dyno time again...
While altering the AFR (which is what the xied's do) may help in some cases if the pinging is very minor and isolated to the closed loop portions of the map, most cases will require a timing adjustment.
If you have pinging at WOT (or twisting the wick in the OP's words), xied's will do nothing for that.

Dont try a dyno to remove a ping do it yourself. If your tuner allows you to get into the timing all you need is 1)what speed & RPM ping starts and stops. 2) access to the timing map on your tuner and 3)Patients to remove it cuz its going to take some trial and error. Let me know how I can help.
