I got my radio backfrom Iron Cross, how and the hell do you get the bolts that are closer to the inner fairing in their holes. I can't get my fingers in there to get them started.Do I need all four bolts or will the two closest to the outer fairing be enough. It feels pretty solid but I don't want to screw it up. Thanks
I am an idiot, what does a ball end allen do for me?I have the loose set of allen wrenches but i can.t get the bolt started let alone get the allen in there . Help
With radio try to align the two front holes and install front screws leave loose then install rear screws. Note front and rear in relation to radio. I just did my bars and had to remove radio
Have you tried removing the plugs on the two gauges that are closes to the screws? Seems to me that I had to remove them to get to the screws. Also you can cut the the tie wraps around the wiring looms and put the screws in and then just get some new tie wraps.
I also had the same problem when I was installing my radio after it came back from Iron Cross. I could not figure out for the life of me how to get the two screws closest to the inner fairing back in. Thanks to the experts here they solved my problem. The tool you need is a ball head allen wrench. It is sold at harbor freight. I could not get the link to work so go to harborfreight.com and in the search box put in the part number which is 67885 and you will see the set they sell. This tool allows you to go through the holes in the fairing brackets on a angle. Once I had this tool it took about one minute to get the screws in. IMHO I would make sure all four screws go back in or your radio may be on the way back to Iron Cross for more internal damage repairs.

Please use all 4 bolts.
Actually, you must use all 4 bolts
This forum is the best. Like was suggested to me, I bought a set of ball end Allen wrenches to get the bolts in my HK radio. I used a magnet recovery tool to hold the bolt then stuck the Allen wrench through a bracket hole and installed the bolts. It worked great. Iron cross audio said the radio went out because of excessive vibration, they were right, I had a broke left side bracket. My bike is back together, thanks to the guy that helped me out.
