Is there any thing else you Guys can think of that would cause my 06 RKC with 3000 mito have abnormal vibration in the floor boards and lower back, to a point you cant enjoy the ride. The dealer said the motormounts were good. The bike remains under warranty until November. The bike has been in the shop going on three weeks. They are trying to get feedback from Harley. If someone has some ideas that would be great.
My 06 ultra had the same problem, the mechanic took all the mounts loose, not off and started it up to let everything settle into place together. I know sounds like bull crap. then he re adjusted all of the exaust, especially next to the right floorboard, Mine is still so close on the right side you cannot put a pencil between the board and the exaust pipe. and take a look at the exaust hanger by the rear cylinder,, mine cracked at about 3k, along with the rear Y pipe. Just one of many problems I had to work through. LOL Dan.
Moco just replaced the rear wheel on my 05 RKC.Wheel was bent due to loose spokes ,but now I don't feel the vibration I thought was normal.Only felt it at cruisisng speed though.
Check your front motor mount yourself. .My parts man told me they check by lifting the motor with a pry bar if it moves much at all it is bad.( lifts up).
Clap
Someone on the forum (can't remember who) was having the same issue. They had highway pegs and for some reason took them off. Once they did this they stated that the vibration went away.
If you have highway pegs it might be worth a try.
Motor mounts, spokes, neck bearing, swing arm bearing. Does the bike vibrate as much while sitting still, or just while at riding speed. Watch the motor while it is sitting still. If there is a lot of foreword/backword movement of the engine (more than normal) this is another indication of motor mount. Just seems premature at 3000 miles. Hope you get it figured out.
I have a lot of Vibration with my SG. Problem is I came off a jap bike and was used to smooth. Harleys are different animalsso I'm not sure if this vibration is normal or not. I noticed since I changed my pipes I feel a little more vibration than stock but I think that happens no matter what bike you do that to. I have a SERT and had the bike tuned but I don't think my tuner was that good. Sometimes I think the vibration is caused by a bad tune job. I'm going to change to a PCIII from fuel moto USA, maybe that will make things a little smoother.
