I like-um. For some strange reason it actually seems to ride a little better.
And if I decided I didn't like, I didn't though $400 in new shocks out the window.
As far as the coment about wearing out seals.. You've got a strait piece that is mounted with two pivoting ends. The load never changes..
I installed this in 30 min. You have everything you need to put them on. Just be careful and think...
Second hole is 2". I think it should be enough. But keep in mind when you climb or descend the road-side that you are lower than before. I did not and I also had to change the kickstand's spring too, if you know what I mean. Good luck!
Me too but from Road6 Customs but pretty much the same kit. I put it on almost a year ago and its doing great. I recommend it but a friend of mine tried it on his SG and said it rode like a hardtail. I think because the SG is already lower so Im not sure what thats all about?I would use em again for the $ its great.
Has anyone tried the lowering kits that is on ebay? The ones that move the bottom of shock back. Says lower from 1-3 in. Would like to lower my bike which is a 05 ultra. Any thoughts would help. Thanks for all of yalls help
I tried them, worked fine. I used them on a 2008 Ultra. No longer have the bike but I do have the lowering brackets. You want 'em? PM if you do.
I used ones like that for several months. Mine have two holes I think. First hole is 1" lower (stock Street Glide height) and the other 2" lower. I used them on the first hole. Works fine, but I got tired of dragging stuff. Mostly floorboards, but also the back of the mufflers on occasion. I took them back off. Good (cheap) way to decide if you want shorter shocks though. I think I still have them. PM an offer if you want them.
Same thing here but I used the first hole (1-inch) on my streetglide. They worked good but I was dragging my fender tip going off my driveway occasionally with wife on back. Ended up taking it off.
I use the Road 6 kit off ebay and run them in the 2nd hole. I love it! Lowers the back end a bit and I never bottom out even when riding 2-up. Very happy!
Got the Road 6 kit too, set at the 1'' on a road glide ultra, me being 300lb and the wife about 115lb + a full tour pack...no bottoming or scraping. Granted I do throw a bit more pressure in the shocks than most, but one of the best low cost mods I've done.
did the same kit as "convincor" on my 09 ultra,a year ago have had no problems with them at all...used the 2" hole..hd dealer told me NOT to use the 3" hole would rub the wiring under fender....
