where is your fuel filter????

are you getting spark across the plugs? did you pull the wires to check for spark?

do you have tools? can you pull the cam positioning sensor and clean it????

whoa- DO NOT crank the motor with the plug wires pulled- this can blow the ignition system.

you can crank the motor with plugs on the wires and the plugs grounded to the motor-

this is an important difference !

--------------------------

when cranking the motor do you smell raw gas from the exhaust pipe ? if so, you probably have fuel.

so spark may be the problem.

I presume you have pulled the fuel cap to make sure that there isn't a vacuum?

Good Luck! You don't seem too bummed out! I've found that a little trouble along the way creates memories that stick with ya! I remember trips where I got wet or cold a lot better than the perfect trips with nothing eventful happening. Keep the good attitude and enjoy the trip. Ride safe!
