Default 16" Carlini Flying Apes - Internal Wiring

I admit defeat. FOUR hours trying to get the wires through the bars on the right side (TBW). Can't do it. GREATLY appreciate ANY tips. Barring any words of wisdom from the forum, I guess I have to take the bars and wires somewhere and pay them to do it. I honestly cannot see how you can get all of the wires (TBW starts at end of bar, rest start at grip end) through at the same time. I ran the TBW wires out the grip hole and attached them all to: hangers (x3), weedeater wire, string, aluminum wire, speaker wire, automatic sprinkler hose, and my daughter's horse thing (leather) which looked promising. I either broke or ripped from wires, all of them. I attached with knots, duct tape, zipties (really small ones), etc. I sprayed damn near a can of liquid wrench into the bars. I am at a complete loss.

Appreciate ANY insight.

I see why even an independent shop here wanted $760 for this job!

I put the same bars on my 2011 RKC last year, and it was a pain. I took a dremel to the opening for the control wires to open it slightly and remove all sharp edges. I shrink tubed the bundle of wires together. Then I used a fish tape with a Klein pulling grip, half lapped the wires with electrical tape and pulled them through. Forget that green TBW connector. I just cut and spliced, not enough room for all that in the bars. Hope that helps.

Both great inputs. Really appreciate it. Should have mentioned it is a 2010 RKC. Funny, I sent the post, took a shower, grabbed a beer and thought, 'I wonder if they make a fish tape that small...' Klein pulling grip. Will be scouring San Diego County for small fish tape and klein pulling grip (whatever that is) tomorrow.

Thanks mucho!

I used long zip ties linked together and then taped them to the wires. Take your time. Get the TBW ran and then pull the green connector out of the end of the bar and out of the way. Then run other the wires through the hole. Some people have enlarged it as well. It is not that tough if you go slow....

Sorry for my stupidity, but I can't visualize this thing with the green TBW connector. I can go from either top or bottom with TBW, but have to go into top and out bottom for rest of wires (unless I take apart the entire control. Given that, how does taking off the green connector help? It is already not part of the equation when going from top to bottom......unless I am more screwed than I thought! I really took my time soldering/heat shrinking everything, so I hope not......I have all of the connectors apart at the moment, I wanted max flexibility to go through bars......learned that during left side!

Run the whole TBW through the bars. Once you do that, pull the grip side out until the plug where they meet inside the bars is clear of the hole under the controls. Now run the rest of the wires trough that hole. Then push/pull the TBW assembly back in the bars. I hope you either made VERY small soldiers or staggered them so they are not real close together...Give me a call at 904-517-9575 if you need more help and I will see what I can do...Thanks,

Mouth,

Can't thank you enough, especially for offering to take a call. Really cool of you man. I will mess with it in the morning. I worked on the bike for 10 hours today, I am pretty much brain dead at the moment.

This forum is one helluva valuable source of information!

Thanks all.
