ARC specifically says on their site that this amp cannot go in the fairing? Anyone with experience tell me why not? Or can confirm it can? Size? Too hot? I plan to do fairing and lowers @ 2 ohms, so this really seems like the way to go, but obviously not if it can't go in the fairing.
Thought I was going to go RF till I found out it can't do 2 ohms. Punch of all companies can't do 2 ohms? I've ran those suckers @ half that back in the day. I used to know people that did half of half that!
There was company Eastside Harley Wa. made some special fairing brackets for 125.4 to fit. Think you also had to trim a little plastic off plastic buckets that hold speedo & tach housing for it to fit. The J&M 4 channel amp which is similar size had to trim buckets also and believe they have vid showing this. See post #28 of this thread bellow.
I've been hearing a lot about Focals, but they are new to me. Pretty sure they weren't around the last time I cared about mobile stereo. I know Polk is high quality but I wish the speakers were either 2 or 4 ohms instead of 2.7. I'll take two gauges out for 2 inch tweeters. I'm thinking MBQuart b/c they were the shiznit when I used to do car audio. Haven't even looked to see if they do marine grade yet.
What did you do and what is your advice?
Oh, and you don't think the amp gets too hot or affects anything negatively inside the batwing? I have no problems with squeezing it in.
