I'm planning on installing this on my 2012 Ultra Limited this weekend for my 665. It looks pretty straight forward. I've read thru the many threads in this matter...and still have a couple questions...
1 - The only part I'm not sure of is removing the seal pins on the 25 pin connector on back of radio. The istructions references the service manual addendum for removal instructions, but doesn't specify which one (addendum) to use. Is removing these seal pins difficult? Can I just use the jewelers screwdriver as mentioned in threads? (LOTS of confilicting info)
2 - Has all the issues been resolved with the updated NIM Kit that now ends with an "A"?.
3 - Any other hints for install?
3 - Any reasons outside of spending $150...why I shouldn't do this?
It is pretty straight forward as you say as long as you know how to unlock the 26 pin connector. You do not want to take it completely apart. It is a pain to get all 26 pins lined up again.

If you have the service manual, the way to unlock the connector is in the back someplace with the other connectors. You need to slide the connector slightly open to be able to insert the pins. There are locks on the sides of the connector to open it up.
Why do you need to use the spare power connector in the headlamp?

I temporarily have Zumo 665 wired to cig lighter. I figured if I opened up fairing I might as well connect power correctly. I was avoiding running new power under tank. Other suggestions. Great article on 25 Pin connector BTW.

Do your power to the cig lighter wires. It's switched and works great for a GPS.

#2 - no. there are spare + / - connectors off the wires running to the headlight - they just sort of hang there. The RT 660/665 mount instructions says to use the spare headlight connectors but the cig lighter should be fine too.
