The beauty of these bikes is most of the shields are pretty cheap, I know everyone is on a differant budget but nothing wrong with having more than one shield.
I have four and all are used for differant times or year.

Summer months I use my stock four inch for looks when I ride solo, the wife wants me to use the LRS or Klock Werks 6/6.5 to keep some of the wind out of her face because she is sitting up higher in the back.
In the winter I like to use the Klock Werks 6.5 to help combat the cool weather and I put the fairing deflectors back on (only used in the winter months), with the wife I have to put the LRS 9" Ultra recurve on. Also I use the 9 when traveling long distances or if I know I'll be riding in the rain. I also use the lower fairings all year.

9" LRS ultra recurve medium tint

6.5 Klock Werks

Stock 4"

No pics yet of the LRS 6" Ultra recurve dark tint yet but I think this might be my everyday shield for now on. Great looks and less buffering. But Ive only had it for less than a week so time will tell.

Good luck in your seach!!

We absolutely take returns, sometimes even if the plastic is taken off. You sometimes have to peel the plastic off to evaluate the shield properly. As long as the shield wasn't ridden a long distance and is in near new conditions, we'll exchange it for you. Call James at 775-331-3789. He'll get you squared away.

For your height, I would agree with the this. I have the 6 inch LRS with fairing deflectors, Im gonna add the fork deflectror later, but the buffering for now is down by 80%.

I must be missing something. I moved "up" from a 06 Street Bob and was a no screen rider. Once I got the SG, I was amazed by how much wind was being deflected. I am talking about the 4" shield, and I am 6' tall. Most everyone I see has changed to a larger shield so I assume there is a good reason. I just can't imagine riding with less wind (even in the winter) in my face.

7" LRS Extreme here, I'm 5'10" and look right over the top. I started with a 8.5" KW, but have to look through it.

I used the following method and it worked perfect for me.

get a piece of cardboard, empty case of beer whatever. have a helper hold that on your fairing low. put a can 50 feet in front of your bike on a flat driveway. have your buddy raise the cardboard until it is about to obstruct your view of the can. mark the cardboard at the top fairing line. Thats the shield to go with. i did. no buffetting and its still low enough to look decent. Remember to sit as you would when you ride. level bike. if you slouch when you ride, souch when you measure.

I went with slightly tinted and like it. I can see through it in a pinch (rain, entering lots) but it looks dark from a distance. I have a buddy with a deep tint that hates entering lots etc as he can't see through it.

I went with a Aeroshield recurve but I have heard LRS's are good and there are probably others.

good luck.

After much reading, I am going with the LRS 7in recurve and fairing deflectors. Price was right so if it does not meet expectations I will try something else. I will post once I finally get it mounted.
