Real world experience w/ Pingel electric shifter?
Well I was hoping for lymes and a magic pill to fix but turns out my flare ups with hands/fingers is rheumatoid arthritis.
Flare up comes fast with no warning, last time left my bike stranded at work for 4 days. Not good. This will not do, I must ride.
Anyway, of course been looking at easy clutch and electric shifters.
Easy clutch is cake and will happen but not good enough sometimes.
Did a lot of searching and reading on electric shifters. As always, I have read mixed reviews and difficult to sort it all out. Figured it was time to come here and ask who had or is using one and what they think about it.
This is something I obviously will not need or use all the time but when I need it to work, I REALLY need it to be there for me.
Thanks in advance for all replies, good and bad.
( the only thing I ever bought from them was a chock)
so not my personal experience, but it stuck with me.
the easy clutch is great, and is now std on hd's what year are you riding ?
install of the easy clutch is a snap, tip: after loosing the exhaust ( if required) and breaking loose the bolts for the tranny end cover, roll the tires up on a 2x4,
put the bike on the jiffy stand and CHECK that the bike is stable.
With this increased angle you will only spill a tablespoon of tranny fluid.
the gasket can almost always be reused, but get one at the dealer just in case, also the O ring from the clutch cable maybe exhaust gaskets if you have to pull the header(s) ( some do, some don't)
when buttoning up, get the tranny cover on finger tight, then get it off the 2X4. that way the bike will be stable when you are torquing the bolts ( 25 ft lbs)
I've done a dozen of those, the best $26 you can spend on a HD

The Dale Walker seems awesome and would jump on one of those and make it fit if it was bi-directional.
But I guess I don't have to have it anyway. An electric shift won't help off the line. And for rolling wheels, like a tractor trailer, the clutch on a bike doesn't even need to be pulled all the way to shift, very little clutch movement and bike shifts fine.
I did already buy the ramp kit for easy clutch, just need a fresh cable and a day off to do the work. Bike is a 2000 FLHTPI.
Thanks again for the help Mike.

Either one would not give you the ability to not use the clutch. Its still require you to start off using the clutch and when coming to a stop you would have to pull it in again
I have a buddy who is helping develop a piece that will significantly reduce the clutch pull. Its still being developed and tested before it goes on the market but so far the tester is very pleased with the results

The product is ready but for only a Tri Glide touring model as of now. All clutch packs and springs aren't created equal so I hear and so I've found out...
Works fine on Softail and Dyna class bikes we've tested but we aren't selling to that market just yet. Soon though....
Look at www.efmautoclutch.com/
a video showing how it works

not sure about any kind of electric shift though.....
