Had the day off from work today. I decided to ride out to Lexington, N.C. to get some BBQ. I heard about a famous BBQ joint so I got on my S.G. and rode out there. My baby loves 80 MPH. While on Cruise control, 80 feels like 40.
On the way back, I got caught in extreme construction traffic and then in the rain (there was no report of rain today). Despite the rain, the SG rode like a champ. I aint brand bashing but on the side of the road, there were 4 metric bikes, looking as sorry as sorry can be.
Sounds like a great time. I don't like riding in the rain, but If you ride far away and ride enough you are gonna hit some. Got caught in a downpour today too,but I didn't let it ruin the ride.
I love a good BBQ run. Always brings a smile to my face. The 'sweet spot' on my RG seems to be 65 MPH. Not too many revs, the turbulence and wind noise are at a minimum, and the engine (FM 107) seems happy there. Oh yeah, I don't have to constnatly watch over my shoulder for the 5-0, either.

Real riders are willing to ride in the rain!
Funny you should mention this........
I recently completed a cross-country ride from upstate New York to San Diego. I only had to ride in the rain on three occasions. Except for a few BMWs, the only bikes I passed while riding in the rain were Harleys......
