My only concern is the spring sitting on top of the shim with no guide for it to sit in. Although my guess is that more are running with a shim than without and I've seen no one mention problems with that scenario.
I installed one on my 2010 Ultra today as well, although I haven't got to run it yet since I thought I already had some primary fluid and didn't buy any yesterday while I was in town.

I'm running 2 shims and no problems, the springs just sit there. Though the FAQ's on the website remind you that those springs are special construction units. (You can't replace them at a hardware store.)
I just got back from a 5 state tour over July 4th and plan on heading up to Louisville Labor Day to visit my daughter.
Problems with the M-6 are the least of my worries.

Thanks Stiggy, I'm really happy with it and that tensioner made it like a different bike. Hard to believe it could make such a difference. I thought it was great before.
Looks like you guys are costing me more $. I got two bikes with the auto adjuster and they definitely shift hard out of neutral. Sounds like this might take care of that.

Neutral into first still clunks but less violently than before. All gears engage more positive feeling and neutral clicks in easily. It's also smoother at slow speeds as well. Put it this way, if I had another bike I would have one on the way for it too.
wirling noise 85% gone. used shin shim just cause,40k miles on bike and it looked a hair over 1/2 inch gap per instructions.same positive results as mentioned elseware. yes it was worth it, imo
I have one in my evo still with no problems, I am putting one in my SG in the winter. hopefully this takes away some of the many noises that come from this bike!!!
