Maybe not "overfilling" but bringing the level up where it is more effective.

"negative effect on the clutch pack" A myth... the clutch is always virtually submerged in the primary oil, yes a wet clutch by design.

Since you are supposed to only fill the primary up to the bottom of the clutch basket, how is the clutch submerged in oil all the time? Sure the oil is splashed onto/into it while the bike is on motion but the whole clutch unit is never completely submerged in oil.

Will keep it simple I hope .. Less Noise (After Break In) Less Clunk ( still some but not near as noticeable) Smoother Shifting through all the Range .. Neutral is Easier to Find .. After Rechecking after 500 miles was still in perfect shape no Adjusting needed .. Not Going to worry about it again until the next 5K Service ..

Do not overfill the primary chaincase with lubricant. Overfilling can cause rough clutch engagement, incomplete disengagement, clutch drag and/or difficulty in finding neutral at engine idle. (00199b)

I put an M6 on a 2002 Electra Glide that has been on there nine years now with minimum wearing. As far as the M6 no issues ever...other than a first gear clonk sometimes when cold...it has always, 'clicked' into gear. Finding neutral is easy. Second thing I did to it after getting it was to install a tru-trac. I will be going to another one on 2012 RK within a while.

I finally installed the Hayden Tentioner on my 2009 HD Road Glide. I hope this item will help the noise problem in the primary and hopefully the noise problem is not something worst. I did noticed that the chain was not stretched out as I imagine. I used the thin chim from the box and when I had the bike running for about 10 minutes I started to hear the noise slightly disappearing. I can't wait to test ride it to confirm the change.

Well, I took the bike out for a long ride into NYC for 9/11 and it's dissapointing to announce that the noice has not left from the primary. So, I am bracing myself for the worst part of having the bike check out on those inner bearings on the primary or tranny. The noice seems to be come more from the rear section of the primary and over to the right into the tranny. Wish me luck....

Question for those who installed the Hayden Tensioner. I have a 2011 and no inspection cover like on older models. Do you have to pull the outer primary cover and replace the gasket? I'm not talking about the Derby cover.

Yes, the whole primary cover needs to come off but the gasket is good for 2-3 removals as long as you don't damage it. It's pretty tough though. Wipe it clean and reuse it.
