Default High speed wobble

Anyone experience it on your touring bike? If so, ever try a chassis stabilizer? If so, do they really work? Just don't want to waste my money. Thanks in advance!

I had some instability at 70 mph right after I bought my new 12 Ultra Classic. However, it seems to have settled down some. I was pretty disappointed in it at first, but now everything seems fairly normal for a batwinged touring bike.

I don't know which model you are riding ( listing your bikes in the "garage

1.) the batwing fairing unloads the front end above about 85 MPH wind speed...get humming along at 100, and a slight push from a crosswind will cause a real pucker

This is not uncommon on fairinged bikes, our batwing is a compromise between "tradition" and performance--- driven by market demand.

1.b) improper luggage loading can screw up the stability of the bike

2.) tire pressure is often set incorrectly ( and there have been many complaints from riders who clearly DO NOT check their bike before they set out)

My 09 rides like on rails- at legal interstate speeds. I got other bikes if I wanna ride faster. ( and other bikes that are right on the edge at 45 mph)

Mike

After reading here about all the choices and the number of people who had that problem, I bought the 'Throttle-Up' stabilizer and have been very happy with it for over 20K miles. I've since added the Ricor 'Intiminators' to my front suspension. My bike handles much better then it did stock. I did try an inexpensive lowering kit for the rear but removed it when my wiring harness was damaged hitting bumps in the road.

Search for 'wobble' and you'll find tons about it, but make a point of reading my thread on the subject.
