the H-D ipod interface is expensive and to use the hand controls and read the display as you page thru menus takes you eyes off the road way too much..
so like the others I use the aux in- although I use the isimple interface as it charges for me as well.
a clear front holster ( which i had) clips to the fairing pouch so the display is near eye-level so i can read directions or maps.
a cable with pause/play switch on it is nice for rolling up to the toll booth- these switches also have next track and rewind to beginning functions. Griffin, $15
I just installed the HDPDPlus from Iron Cross Audio. It works great, it was simple to install, I control it with my handlebar controls and the price was a lot less than the HD unit. Give them a call they can give you all the information you need.
Another thing, remember to put your IPhone on airplane mode while you're riding, otherwise you'll hear your phone ringing through your stereo.

I did the Harley kit and I love it. It is funny to be riding down the road and have the bike "ring". The wife and I have a code. If she needs to talk to me she sends me 3 text messages on a row kinda quick. Then I know to call home. Only works when you are listening to the pod/phone.
