Mobil 1 V twin in the motor, Harley primary fluid for clutch and Red Line gear oil in the transmission this combo has served me very well for 74K miles.

SYN 3 in all 3 for 25000 miles. No problems. Switching it up now after lots of research. Staying with Syn 3 in motor. Redline Shockproof in Trans & Dino M/C 20W50 (Brand to be determined) in Primary.

I have run REDLINE in all three hole since the 5,000 change and had no problems, smoother shifting and no more sepage around the primary. Got the locol HD dealer to carry REDLINE and can't keep it on the shelf Just saying. Got 23,500 on her now change the engine and primary, transmission every 5,000.

Used Syn3 in all three holes starting with the first oil change. My 2009 SG has 13,900 miles with zero oil related issues. That is my choice of oil and works good for my riding style. Not a HD company boy and I don't give a flying flip about the naysayers. I read all the same testimonials about dino, synthetic, royal purple, amsoil, and mobile1 on a Suzuki M109 website when I had my M109. There are multiple dino and synthetic oil combinations that all work in the three holes.

Not my bottom line decision point, one Syn3 convenience is on trips I pack one container of spare oil, not three.

I was running Redline and then switched back to Amsoil so that all 3 holes will be the same brand, but I dont like it, I running 70/90 Amsoil should I go heavier or go back to Redline

Got a 95 Ultra that I used Valvoline 20-50W in the motor for 220K miles. Never had a problem. Always used RevTech or HD primary oil and RevTech or HD semi-syn in the tranny. Shifted well and clutch felt great.
Put a 113ci motor and a Baker 6 speed with a Barnett clutch. Here is where the oil BS began. I tried Mobile 20-50W syn in the motor but my oil pressure went so far down at idle that it only lasted 3k miles, went back to Valvoline non syn. As for the tranny, I used (and still do) Lucus 85-140, seems to hold up well to the pounding shifts. The primary gets Royle purple trans syn. No problems there.
Now, I have a 12 SG. Changed the oils at 1500. Went with Mobile 20-50 syn, same problem with the oil pressure, I used Lucus primary chaincase oil and RevTech semi syn in the tranny. No problems, I can find nutral better and it shifts well.

I have been watching the forums to see what others are using. Got about another 500 miles till next oil change. Just curious as to what to try in the motor next.
