05' electraglide burped and died ....help!!

That could very well be the case on that bike, but mine has ABS which is under the right side cover, leaving no room there for the ECM, so they put it on top of the battery. My mistake- I didn't consider the fact that it's different on non-ABS bikes.

My ECM is in a tray on top of the battery. No ABS. '08 EGCU

I'd say your battery is shot.
