That's probably the best suggestion.
Might be just a bad batch(s) from the manufacturer as well (since some of the cracks are in tires with 2012 date codes).
I've been watching threads like this since I'm planning on replacing my tires sometime in Sep/Oct. I had never gotten more than 15k out of a front/9k rear before they should have been replaced and I'll be over 20k on my D408/D407 combo (still have 3/32" left) when I replace them. Because of the excellent wear (and that they both wore pretty evenly) I'm planning on replacing them with the same.
These cracks in the tires concern me though, since I like to put lots of miles on the bike--hate to be on a trip and need to try to convince a dealer that the tires needed to be warrantied.
Mike,
The manufacture date doesn't seem relevant, I'm on my 3rd front tire with dates from early 2011 to last month. Seems to be a batch problem from what I've read, get a bad week,....get a bad tire.
Dealer has been excellent about replacing the tires, but I'd think that may not be so easy away from home station.

Are you having to pay the dealer for each replacement labor wise?
I have had 2 replaced on my SG bought the first of April. I have about 5000 miles on it now. There should be NO CHARGE to you at all. The dealer may play dumb or may actually be dumb but this is an ongoing problem so you may have to educate them

Good to know. I own a 12 CVO with only 5k miles and im seeing this. SMH
I just found sidewall cracks on this same tire .. Bad cracks. Ordered Michelin Commander II's ... Not going to mess with Dunlop from HD, but I will seek some recovery in Labor or Tire price.. I have a 2012 Road Glide Custom. 7000 miles. Should not have sidewall cracks.
This sux. Soon as I get back from sucking sand this is the first thing I am going to do when the bike sees daylight again. 8000 miles on Big Red, so I am sure if this is an ongoinig problem with dunlop, mine will have cracks, lets hope not though.
