Happy to hear you're OK. In CA. we're allowed to split lanes. I do so as often as safely possible, especially at intersections where I'm stopped. My thought is that it could help prevent bodily injury in a rear-ender like that. Of course, that only works if the cars get pushed forward. If it vears left or right (depending on left lane or right lane getting hit) I'm probably screwed.
Glad to read your relatively ok. I would just let your insurance agent handle it, isn't that why we pay for it? If you need compensation beyond medical & bike replacement & they don't treat you right....Time to contact an atty. JMHO Best of luck.
I'm Glad you are Ok! I know nothing I write is going to change the fact you got hit. I got rear ended on my Fatboy in Philly a few years back. I was able to walk away. After I cut my turn signal that was dangling I rode the bike Home. To this day I don't know why I was so lucky. I repaired the Bike and put a BAL-1 Tail light on my bike. When I'm stopped I always check my mirrors and If I see a vehicle approaching I play with my front brake and Flash my brake light. Wishing you a speedy recovery!!!!
Update, dealer is waiting for insurance adjuster to see the bike but they estimate that there its about 7-8 thousand dollars in damage, but very fixable.
They say I'm probably looking at about 6 weeks roughly in down time...
Looks good!
Had it been a pre-09 it prob would've been totaled. The new subframe saved your ins company.
Looks like you got a nice mod too!
Bet you'll be watching your mirrors now?!
