It's the same "police state" type attitude that you see in the USA more often. WE have respect for the Police (that's how I was raised) and THEY SHOULD HAVE RESPECT FOR THE CITIZENS OF THEIR COUNTRY, THE PEOPLE WHO ARE THEIR BOSSES, THE PEOPLE THEY WORK FOR. END OF DISCUSSION. A lot of police down here make up excuses (LIES that take away the citizens personal rights!!!!!) to pull people over and then look for something to cause them harm with. When you are hired to protect the rights of the citizens of your country and then you take away their personal rights on a whim, you are no better than the ****'s, you may be worse, they did not pretend to be good people. It's only some of the police, but it's more and more. I have dozens of personal examples. The many good and honorable police officers, who deserve my respect, need to clean house, don't protect the scum and change the whole attitude in the so called "justice system".

Some A$$holes happen to have badges and a set of lights on the top of their cars....Not saying all LEO's are A$$holes but this one just happened to be equipped with the tools to make somebody's day bad.
The flip side to that is if you are not 100% compliant to the law it's his right to enforce it.

Is live in Missouri with the 15" over seat law. I also go to the same bars as the guy with the extreme apes on his bike some of you have posted about on here. If Jim is not getting tickets around here, I'm not too worried about my 16's.

I run with 18s and when going into a small town and see a LEO I sit on the back of the seat and stand on the pegs as much as I can while still sitting, pull in the clutch or go up a gear. I love the RANDOM STOP. If you are worried about getting stopped again pull the bars in a little and you will be legal.

I find that, when I get pulled over, I just smile and act polite. Blow a little sunshine up their ****. Most time they lose some of their attitude when you try and personalize the stop. Appologize to them for making them pull you over. Most time I have gotten off with a warning. Other times gotten a $25 ticket. Better than trying to argue. You never win.

I don't think I saw the word "hate" here. Here's another little tidbit. My son and I are going to a Browns game. There is a young police officer directing pedestrian traffic. We're waiting for the light and there is this young guy, maybe 20 or so looking at the cop. Maybe he was impressed and was thinking that he would like to become a police officer. The young cop sees him looking at him and in a snide tone of vioce says "What are you looking at." Yeah, that left an impression alright. A good example or intimidation. The cop wasn't some homey on the street "hey man whats you lookin at" but he came across that way. Obviously the vast majority of police officers are dedicated proffesionals, they have a very dangerous job and deal with a lot of scum bags and take a lot of abuse but they have to differentiate between good and bad citizens and learn when to use some discretion. There are cops that I know personally and I can tell you from my experiences and observations they consider themselves a "closed" society. it's us versus them. Over time they look at civilians as different than them. Some people are corrupted by power. The old saying "power corrupts" is not just for politicians.

Nice to know you have such deep respect for law enforcement that unfortunate events like that effect you so deeply.

I completely agree with your respect.

Keep it up.

It's just a few people that give all of us a bad name. It's the same with every job out there. In PA the handlebar height is the height of the rider's shoulders. To make up reason to stop someone is ridiculous, but you are also only hearing one side of the story. If what was said is true then the guy is just an jerk with a badge.

My intent is not to turn this thread into a "cop bashing" diatribe. so The example(s) I gave are minor. I could go on and on about more serious police insensitivities/misconduct toward the people they are supposed to protect and serve, we've all seen it at one time or another. We all have our opinions regarding the police, mine aren't what they used to be and not because of the two admittedly minor instances given. If in the future a cop gives me a sarcastic, insensitive, or an overreactive response to invoke intimidation I'll think of you and reply with "I love you anyway, man." Thanks for restoring my faith in the police.[sic]
