Default Tail light question

Two nights ago I picked up a '13 FLHX and when I was about 1/2 way home (150+ mile trip one way) I noticed that one of the tail lamps was out. Due to the late hour and assuming it was just a burnt out bulb I continued home.

Today I went to the auto parts store and replaced the bulb but it still does not light as a running light, turn signal or when the brakes are activated. It does flash when the ignition is turned off and the alarm signal activates. The other lights all work as they should.

Is there anything that I can check before taking the trip back to the dealer. Some connection? or other quick check / fix?

Thanks in advance.

Just my .02, but if this was a problem on the night I brought the bike home, I'd be taking it back to the dealer the next morning and be there when the service dept. opens... I don't care how minor the problems, I would make them fix it. Especially on a brand new bike.

If I lived closer to a dealer I would have been there before the doors opened. But I really thought it was just going to be a light bulb change. On the positive side when I posted my question I also sent an email to the salesman that I dealt with and he called me from his house a few minutes ago to apologize for the issue. If there are no suggestions offered here I guess I will be making the trip on Monday or Tuesday.

I agree, long ride or not, its the principle man, when you pick that bike up it should be perfect.
Unless you bought a used bike as is then thats another story.
I would go and watch them fix it and see what it was so you know whether it will be a problem later or if something was done wrong on you new bike my mistake.

Check the fuses under the side panel on the left side of the bike. Still shoulda been perfect on delivery whether a used bike or a new one tho. The stealer should make it right!
