Default 07 Roadglide upgrade ?'s HELP

Well, it's time to do some mods on my RG.

I need your help and or suggestions: for 2007 RG

1. Does anyone have wideglide bars?
a. Do you like them?
b. Do you have pictures?

2. Does anyone have Vance & Hines Big Shot Duals? Not slip ons. Complete true duals.
a. Do you like them?
b. Do you have pictures?

3. Whats the air cleaner of choice? I want round 5 bolt cover, which does not necc. come with filter kit but needs to accept it. I need stage 1 kit. Been looking at Arlen Ness Big Sucker. Do you suggest chrome backing plate or alum. Can you really see it?

4. Good price source for these items?

Thank you all in advance!!!!!

My Big Shot True Duals are supposed to be in by the end of the week. I'll let ya know what I think and I'll take some pictures. I know they are fairly loud, but I plan on getting the quiet baffles if they are really bad. I'll keep ya posted.

I rode with WG bars on my old RK for nine years and mostly liked them. To me the main negative was that they are turned a bit too much outward for my taste, and I wish the outer portion of my hands were turned inward more. After many hours in the saddle that position sometimes caused one or more fingers to become slightly numb, but it wasn't a major problem and YMMV. The position wasn't off enough for me to change handlebars, so I just lived with it. I pulled them down as far as possible to achieve the greatest pullback, as they were also a tad too far forward for me. I adjusted by buying a Corbin Close Solo seat, which helped.

If I had to pick a set of handlebars for touring, it wouldn't be the WG bars, although they are not entirely unsatisfactory or I would've removed them. They seem to be fairly popular as a touring-bike swap, especially on old RK's that had the terrible wide beach bars that everybody got rid of. The stock handlebars on my SG feel very similar, actually, but I don't think they are quite as high.

As for a source, if you don't want to pay MSRP (local) or 20% off (mail-order dealers), try Ebay for some take-offs. I believe they make chrome and SS, BTW, and the stock item was SS. Thus, I would guess most take-offs on Ebay would be SS.

thers is a post on the forum now talking about bars on a RG {wild1's 517's} I have run stock and wild1's 513's = which are very close to the stock WG bars, I liked them but they made me move up in the seat just a bit, still after a 4 hour ride to Lake Tahoe, no pain really. I have now put on the wild1 517's, they have more pull back but are turned in a little more... some people love them, others do not. I will keep them on until at least next Oct... I want to give them a full chance... I still have the stock bars and the 513's so I can change when ever I get the urge... Life is to damn short to be uncomfortable on a ride. I also went with a custom Corbin. BTW - 5'6" and 56....
You want suggestions... make your ride nice for you... most of us add more "things/crap" than we really need.... ride, look and enjoy YOUR bike the way you like it, not the way others say it should look...

My only comment is that the backing plate was painted flat black at my HD dealer when he installed the Rineharts; it looks very good, matches the black and silver motor. On a silver motor like an RG I would probably go with OEM silver or chrome.
