Bike finally broke.
Got up this morning and called the dealer. Explained the issue, but their driver had a full day and would not be able to pick up the bike until late this afternoon. So they sent a wrecker for it, on their dime. $150 worth. (they found out later when calling in the warranty claim that the tow would be covered also).
We we get there, and everyone is standing around in total awe. They couldn't believe the tire still had air in it.
To make a long story short. They had a Michelin Commander II in my size (their price was more than I paid for it online of course), and saved it for me. Wrecker showed up and I helped the guy load it and then rode with him to the dealership. They took the bike in and did all the work, AND replaced my rear brake pads (they were getting a little thin).
Total cost to me? $59.63 for the new pads. I got the new tire, tube, and labor for both the tire and brake job free. (well, as free as it can get when you buy an extended warranty with tire and wheel coverage).
Just got home a little while ago. If I would have had to pay for all that, it would have been in the $600.00 range.
And two other little benefits.... I got to hear my bike as a pedestrian for the first time and it sounds awesome with the V&H Monster Rounds (windshield kicks so much motor noise back at the rider), and they detailed it for me too. It was really dirty after that ride Sunday.
LOL I have to admit, you don't hear about that every day.
Makes me glad I went with that coverage too, even if I never use it.
Pads worked out great for you too, excellent!
Ride safe.
