Finished the install this morning. Very easy. Took it for a spin, write what a difference. Feels like a totally different bike. No more banging of the comp. You dont really know how bad it is until its gone. Bike feels like it gained 30 hp...unbelievable!! By far the best mod I've done yet.
I loved it when I had it, but was just a little too much on the highway which I found myself doing more often so I swapped it with the Evo 49 tooth ring gear conversion. Glad ya got it all installed and like it.
Are you guys talking about the compensator gear vs the starter ring gear? What is the outcome by doing this? I too run more highway so I wouldnt want to loose any top end. Also would this work with a 30T trans output gear change?
Compensator sprocket gets replaced with a solid sprocket...2 less teeth...shorter chain. About the same effect as the 30t final drive pulley and belt...but much less work...also this way you eliminate the compensator...I am sure some would advise against this. Though I have yet to hear of anyone who did this conversion and broke the crank.

I went with the 49T and like it, in 6 gear at 70 mph the rpm is about 3000. Just give it the gas and away you go.
