Compensator What If
What would happen if you had a total compensator failure? I will be installing the 2nd SE comp. next week on my 09 ULTRA. 1st was installed under warranty by dealer to eliminate hot start grind and kickback (yes HD paid for it) at about 9k. At about 42k I start hearing knocking under load from the primary and pulled the comp., found 2 of the 3 spokes on the comp. sproket badly worn?? Put it back for awhile due to backordered SE comps. and now at 46k I've got the new one to be delivered tomorrow. Noise has gotten somewhat worse, but not just hammering either. I've never heard of a total failure and I'm not going to delay replacement any longer, just wondering....?
