I hit the kill switch on my friend the other day at a light

I was sitting right next to him at a light. The funny part is he was on his police bike and had just caught up to me after making a traffic stop. Just as the light turned green I reached over and hit his kill switch and then took off laughing. I could hear in yelling at me as he tried to start his bike. I'm sure I'll pay a price for that some day.

Wow, I really can't believe how many people leave the ignition on! I have never ever done that. How can you leave the ignition on on your bike? I honestly want to know.
That's got me puzzled, too. I flip off the kill button, turn off the ignition switch as a general rule. When I start I flip on the kill button and switch on the ignition then hit the starter.
What's so bad about, turn on the ignition, flip the switch, push the start button.
To shut down, flip the switch, turn the ignition off.
Been doing it this way for years.
To the guy who's girlfriend hit the starter instead of the kill switch, I never let anyone (mechanics excluded) touch the controls on my bike especially when it's running.
I'm not part of the older crowd (31 yrs), but I just shut my key off after I use the kill switch. I haven't forgotten to do that in the 5 years I've been riding.
It only takes once forgetting it and you will run the battery down. Not fun when that happens.
Being as young as you, you may have to do it twice before you're convinced. lol
All that being said, I have ridden a bike for 50 years (started when I was 8 years old) and have never left the lights on and ran a battery down.
But then I don't use the Kill Switch either. I have had friends do it though.

Senior moments?
Also how do you confuse the starter wit the kill switch??
