Always use kill switch, radio goes off last.

If you run a thundermax, it was suggested to me to only use the tank switch
That was when I had one on my 07 FLSTF.

Wow, a lot of replies, and I stopped reading after the first 40. The ECM will still have power going to it no matter which method you use. Otherwise you'd have to reset the clock every time you got back on it. All other settings would be maintained in memory at their last settings. Such as odometer, trip meter, etc. Power or no power. Just like shutting off a home computer. You can completely unplug it from power, but it will still maintain some of it's memory and functions when you power it back on.
