Volume control does not always turn up volume

Volume control does not always turn up volume
My 07 EGC will turn down the volume with ease but to turn up the volume the button has to be pushed with a lot of force and wiggled. Can the contacts be cleaned with electrical spray contact cleaner or do I need a new switch?

you can try contact cleaner, make sure the brand you use does not eat plastic...some do.
trace the wiring to the radio and make sure the connections are clean and tight

That's weird; I've had the same thing with my '07 for at least a couple of years now. Volume decrease, no problem but volume increase can be a challenge. I found that if I push up on the left side of the button rather than in the middle, it works a lot better. (?) It's been that way for a long time without failing so I haven't messed with it.

Has the switch buttons been changed? because there are 2 different sets for touring, and the dealer switched out the right button for my bike, and now it works perfect. Went to the chrome buttons.

The button can be pushed up,down, or in. I've noticed sometimes when I push up (vol+) it will also slightly push in resulting in nothing happening (not pushed in enough to switch to bass,treble,avc,etc)
