Default Trailering upon retirement.....

Just purchased a travelite pop up trailer. 350#. What is the safe weight to pull behind my '10 ultra? Any suggestions of what brand of hitch to get?

Unless you've already been to this section of the Forums, here's an area that should help.

I don't have an answer for you, I just wanted to say, I know a lot of people don't like the idea of towing anything, but I think it is pretty awesome when folks retire and pull a trailer behind their bikes and hit the road.

My mom just retired and she has never been on a bike, I am trying to talk her into letting me take her for a ride, she doesn't know what she is missing.

More people at retirement age should do adventurous stuff like that and really enjoy themselves, good for you.

I'm going to do it the opposite way. Keystone Raptor Toyhauler and bike inside. Will retire next year and take some multi-week trips. In October a short one, NC, VA, and WV mountains.

Khrome Werks hitch on my '03. I made a HF trailer with the car top carrier loaded with about 150#'s of camping gear - pulls gr8, keep the tongue weight between 14# to 16# - just watch the way you pack. Bedding forward heavy over the axle/rear.
