Is there a significant change in performance and sound when you change the head pipes on these touring bikes? I have a 2012 street glide with v&h high outputs and debating if it's worth the money to change the head pipe. Thanks.

The "wrong" pipes can cause a decrease in performance.
If that's all you're doing, you might want to put the dollars towards other mods.
these are the decisions im left with. besides pipes all my other mods are probably comfort and cosmetic, not performance. the bikes is quick enough and goes fast enough for me. just looking for a little more sound and a little more get up and go. actually a lot more sound. probably change the the speakers and add an amp as well. thanks all.
Just finished a complete stage 1 from Fuel Moto. Very happy so far. New non-cat header, 4'' Jackpots, air cleaner, and power vision pre-mapped tuner for this set up. All for 1400.00. Best decision I made. More low end, cooler running, and a lot better sound. The Jackpots are not much loader than stock till you get on it. Then she barks and goes. Keep in mind opinions sometimes very but I really like the non-cat header.
taking the cat out of the header or replacing the header will definitely make it louder and help make it more comfortable in the summer...just taking the cat out of the original head pipe won't make it faster, but it will sound faster!!
I did thenpipesmand the header later. Significant sound and performance difference. I hesitated to,spend the $400 bucks because im not a performance gear head, but am glad I did.
