Need a little help understanding - Just installed Vance & Hines Hi-Output Slip-Ons with Power Duals and have some concern one side of the Hi-Output Slip-Ons is running hotter than the other (left),More Air comes out of the same side, a lot more (left)Also the tip of the Slip-ons is turning Yellow,(which cleans right off) is this normal? Will it go away? I have called Vance & Hines and Tech support telling me all this is normal for this system and the yellow stuff after time will not happen- any feedback out there
I just posted a new thread this morning about the same/similar issue. To me it appaers the one cylinder is running richer than the other.......my left one is dark sootie, to rich the right one seems normal.
Have the Power Duals and Monster Rounds on for 2 years now. Had the bike dyno tuned by a good tuner, and have the same condition on my bike. Seems to be a normal condition. Bike runs great.
The left side gets more exhaust flow for some reason and will discolor quicker than the right. Mine started out a dull yellow at first and then black with carbon. I'm running a very rich map so black is normal. For some reason the X pipe scavenge system creates more flow to the left side. Should be some technical reason but I haven't a clue as to why. Your system sounds OK based on what you describe.
Guys I have the power duals for over 2 years now and my bike has been dynoed tuned and both sides seem the same on mine. They are a awesome pipe though and make alot of power and tq so I wouldn't worry. I would suggest getting a tune done though.
I have the same setup on my Limited Ultra --- Power Duals & High Outputs, and they do the same thing. I talked to a guy at a dealership once who had the same thing on his, so I was aware of it before I put them on. The bike runs great, and I'm not worrying about it. It's been like this since March or April when I put the High Outputs on, and haven't had 1 problem or issue.

Mine does the same thing. I was told by the dealer it is normal and the bike runs fine.
Same thing on my 12 Limited. Actually I took the bafflers out of the Monster Rounds and swapped sides to balance the color. Again as stated in most replies, very happy with the pipe and muffler combo
