compensator issues? You must mean 2010 and older....2011 went with the SE compensator.

From what I understand, the standard warranty is 2 years, then you can purchase optional extended coverage, bringing it to a total of 5 years or 7 years (from date of purchase, regardless of mileage). I'll have to check into the wheels/tires and make sure that's part of the coverage. By that, do you mean like coverage against punctures, blowouts, etc?

I haven't had any issues with my 09 comp but do have a new in box SE comp on the bench in my garage. Decided against putting it in just yet.
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...ding-help.html. Could be bikes with a modded motor having problems I'm not sure

Yes reilandlaw. The tire wheel coverage will cover flats as long as tread is within spec. Read the paperwork before signing for or against it as it explains coverage well

If you go with a tour pak....think hard about getting the Chopped tour pak....it fits the lines of the bike alot better. Mine is on order. The razor is VERY small...the chopped is the perfect size for a Streetglide.

Winsdscreen? I like my 8.5" Kockwerks alot

Lower fairings. Some like them, some don't....I LOVE mine....that and some lower fairing "wings" killed ALL wind buffeting.

You can buy all of this Harley stuff at Lake Shore Harley (www.lshd1.com) for about 20% off. I have saved HUNDREDS going through them. Get the part #'s and price check it with them. If you spend enough, the shipping is free....if not, shipping is usually 10 bucks.

Later down the road, SE 255 cams in these bikes make a night and day difference.

I agree that the chopped tour pack looks the best on a SG. A couple of things to consider include how often will you use it and if you ride two up for long trips. The King tour pack is a better deal for the money.

I put a tour pack on my SG with a luggage rack and a LED brake light. I thought the brake light under the luggage rack along with the existing SG brake lights would work well enough. What I found is that cagers, when they see a tour pack, expect it to have lights. More than a few times I almost got rear-ended when stopping. The luggage rack angles down in a way that car drivers really can't see the brake light during the day. I had to add lights to the tour pack. I don't know what options for light the chopped pack has. JMHO.

Reilandlaw read this thread it involves a ESP claim rejected cause of a power commander. One of the posts lists a section of the contract the esp folks are hanging their hat upon. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...knowledge.html

Also, the chopped tour pack looks real nice but I find that I run out of space real fast with my king tour pack.

Like the looks of the chopped tour pak, but I think I'll need the space of the larger one. The age-old question: style vs. Substance, right?

Congrats.....if this is your first big bike don't make very tight slow turns. You could go over until you get the feel for this bike. If your not new to this bike sorry for putting my 2 cents in.....good luck, congrats, and enjoy...
