It is useless and a waste of money to me, I only hope it lowered my ins. rates and adds to resale.(same as security option I was forced to take)

I like abs in the truck on ice, saves me pumping !!!! I would rather skid tires on dew than skip over it though.

Imagine someone pulling out in front of you while you are going 35-45 mph, then stopping abruptly in front of you. almost as if they were trying to get you to rear end them... Could I have stopped with out ABS? Probably, but I tell you it was a great peace of mind when it activated and stopped me in plenty of time. I was amazed on how well it worked. faster then I could have use manual threshold braking.

I also was unsure of buying a bike with ABS.. Now, I will not have one with out it.

JMAO through.. Good luck.
In the rain.

I have them on my '11 SG. They have engaged once when a *#%$ deer came out of nowhere. Just glad to know that they work and hopefully never have to engage them again.

I've locked the rear on my 06 RKC a couple of times in controlled panic stops, but the key is controlled. The thought of ABS allowing me to NOT stop like I want to, is troubling. I have the opposite problem on my car, an 03 Cobra. A couple of times with skid control activated, I had to get down on it to avoid an errant driver and when the rear broke loose, the fuel was cut and if I had not gotten out of it real fast and "re-energized" really fast, I would have been hit by a crazed texter in a cager. I guess I am saying that the majority of the time, I want to control what happens and not leave the decision up to a machine....just my 2cents worth

I would go for the ABS. I have been riding Harley's since 1969 and experience is one thing and reaction is another thing. I own a 2012 SG with ABS and a 1999 FXR2 without. Sometimes when **** happens you react before you think and the ABS earns it's money when you hit the brakes and there is no lock up front or rear. I was riding my FXR today and a cager pulled out in front of me and I reacted and locked the rear wheel for about 20 feet, luckily I was only doing about 30 mph so it stayed straight instead of the rear coming around sideways. I think the ABS on my SG is spoiling me, I have to try and remember on the FXR not to react-but how do you not react. Just my 2 cents.

If you locked the wheels in a "controlled panic stop", you are not stopping as fast as you would have with ABS. Once your wheels are locked, you blew it, plain and simple

I locked the rear tire on my Night Train while doing a quick stop in the rain today. I didn't crash or anything, just scared me a bit. I have ABS on the Ultra. Wish I had it on the Softail too.
