This should be a "no brainer" decision! ABS can save your life. I wish I had it on my '06. That has been the only reason I am considering a new bike.
As a matter of fact, I think the motor company should be more responsible and make it a standard feature on all their bikes!

I got it because it was on the bike I wanted (in love with). It wasn't worth it for me to wait for another bike. It's kicked in for me several times. A couple in poor road conditions and a couple times in panic stops. Sure, on the panic stops I should have been riding differently but I wasn't and it kept me upright in all probablity. I have had it kick in on hard riding situations (braking hard into a tight bumpy corner at a high rate of speed) but now that I have better rear shocks that hasn't happened.

I'm glad I have it.

just like you're enforcing your opinion of no abs?

in the end, it all comes down to how important it is to you. for every guy you read about who says abs is no big deal, there is one that says that he will never buy another bike without it again.

just think of it this way, you're already spending 20 grand, whats another 1? if you get the bike without abs, you are not gonna be able to add it later if you change your mind.

btw, i am one of those abs converts. but i'm not gonna tell you you're wrong if you don't go abs.

yeah, i have had my rear abs kick in on a bumpy road when coming to a stop. and because i was already slowing, i didn't use my front breaks. so yeah, the abs kicked in, and i noticed i was not going to stop in time for the intersection. so reached up and applied the front brakes. the front abs did not kick in and i stopped in plenty of time.

I have it on my 2012 SG. Came on the bike, I did not order the bike so I thought I was stuck with the extra money in something I didn't want or need.
Been in a couple of sticky situations now and I must say great improvement, no sliding sideways like my other bikes and makes a bad situation much better. If you look at it, for the money spent on the ABS it saves on any future accidents, hospital bills, bike repairs and a whole bunch of pain and suffering.
Absoultly love the brakes on this bike and would now in the future insist the ABS.
Works great on heavier bikes like ours. BMW have been using them for a long while now and for good reason.
