I recently posted the below in another thread.

When I traded for my '07 Street Glide in February ('12), it had some remaining ESP on it. I bought additional ESP (3 years) around March.

I just had over $2000 worth of work done (flywheel replacement) with no issues, and, a $50 deductible.

It has more than just paid for itself.

As I stated in my original post, i was not concerned weather I would ever need it, but if I did some work on the bike like a stage 1, that it would void the contract if I do need it.
I went to the dealership where I bought it today and spoke to the service dept. They said that putting a stage 1 on wouldn't void it.
I'll take my chances and keep the ESP.

Dealer told me if I have any run-ability issues to just pull the tuner.

had bout 500.00 worth of work 3 weeks after i bought the ESP.
Pretty sure I'll get my monies worth before it expires.
Tire coverage is nice too! Just my .02

You're right but I also have car, bike, homeowners insurance that I never get any use out of either. Yea I know that I am required to have those and the ESP in only an option.

Joe,

Sorry forgot to comment on this. In my case, I have TTS mastertune tuner, Fulsac X-Pipe & 2.25 CVO Baffle Cores. Nothing inside motor rise has been done. (Have a set of cams that I plan on installing sometime in the near future sitting in my office)

Both my dealers will honor what I have done to my bike.
I guess it really depends on each dealer. I have a pretty good relationship w/ both of my local dealers.

I plan on keeping my scooter completely stock inside the motor. I have 3 more years of warranty left, and the ESP has been good to me.

After the ESP is expired, cams, Head work and maybe bigger throttle body.

Ride Safe,

YELLOWBIRD

When I bought my bike it had 14.5K miles on it. Having never owned an
HD and not being that familiar with them, I bought the ESP. I have nearly 40K miles on it now and have never used it in the year and a half I've owned the bike, but I am paying for the peace of mind. And, If they let me, I'll renew it when its close to expiring. It also had the Stage 1 already on it when I bought the bike.

When I was shopping for the Harley ESP I was told by every dealer that I was thinking of purchasing the Harley ESP from that every Harley dealership honors the Harley ESP.
In fact I was told that to own a Harley dealership franchise you must agree to honor the Harley ESP.
Well this is just not true as some of you have found out for yourself.
Whether or not to sell or honor the Harley ESP is up to the individual dealership as the Harley ESP is in reality just a 3rd party insurance and not really underwritten by Harley Davidson but is endorsed by Harley Davidson.
I think the sales information from Harley and the dealers should reflect this fact as it is misleading.
