Looking to remove the factory alarm off my 01 and was told I need to replace my tssm with a tsm. Was wondering if anyone knows the part number for this. Called the dealership and got left on hold.
Why the hell does the dealer want 250 bucks to install one, is there something I'm missing looks like it pulls right out and only has one plug going to it. Was told its a 3 hour labor charge

Read the post that Uncle Larry provided the link to. There is a bit of work to get the ECM and the TSM to recognize each other. Though that link is for an 07 and up, I suppose that is "should" work on your 01. Good luck and report back your progress.
EDIT:
Doing a bit of Googling it looks like at least one person has done this successfully with simply replacing the TSSM with a TSM, but that was on a Road King, and it did not say whether it was EFI or not.
Will that TSM also fit on a 2003 to replace the TSSM ?
I disconnected the battery to re-route the pig-tails for the battery tender and ever since then the security light has been on. Took the bike to the dealer, they told me to ignore the light (which is hard to do) or replace the TSSM with a new TSSM or a TSM.
Also, is this TSM plug-n-play on a 2003 that previouly has a TSSM...or does the dealership have to re-program the TSM and ECU ?
Anyone done this before with feedback ?
All these new electrical gizmos, buttons and FOB's sure complicate something as simple as disconnecting the battery.
