Been looking at exhaust systems for my new 13 Ultra Ltd.
Leaning towards V&H power duals with monster slip ons,
Talked to fuel moto and they suggested their jackpot series
and headers. Any body with feed back on either. I am also planing on a stage
1 AC and either power vision or HD super tuner. I don't want a loud system
My best Pal has a 2011 FLHTK, 103.
V&H PD's and M/O's.
I lead he follows, his pipes project a tinny sound straight out the back which I have no interest in listening to all day.
If he leads...i drop way back about 1/10th of a mile.
He stores his bike with me in the winters and I ride it some maybe once a week or 2.
Too loud to listen to the radio for the most part.
power, fit and finish is good with a couple of exceptions;
IF the bike is lowered front and rear, on right turns the cover on the X pipe can scrape hard enough to relieve traction from the rear tire
the crossover clamp can hang up on speedbumps ( causing damage to the system) if installed with the excess threads hanging down, it has to be oriented correctly or the excess threaded rod cut off.
I dont know anything about V&H but i have Thunder headers and Thunder slip-ons.
My bike has a very deep low and beefy sound, no tinnyness otherwise my 88" is bone stock except for the Stage 1 and air filter kit and sounds amazing, i couldnt be happier with the sound.

Last week on my 2012 RK I installed VH monster rounds into power duals. I did big sucker stage 1 with a VH LCD fuelpak. It sounds awesome but not to loud. It bites when you twist it and rumbles at idle. $1295 all bought online with free shipping and no tax.
Do yourself a favor and look into the special at MGS Custom Bikes True Duals. They have a stage 1 upgrade package. I just got the true duals exhaust and cannot be more happy with them.
I came from a thunderheader, then a Dragula 2-1 performance pipe and now MGS True Duals. By far best sounding and looking pipe Ive had to date and cant feel any power loss coming from 2-1 to true duals. These pipe simply kick *** in every category, imho.
I run a gutted stock header (American Custom) and the monster rounds. As far as the previous statement about them sounding tinny, that person must either not be running the stock baffles or it is somehow related to the power duals, because the note on my bike is very very deep, nothing tinny about it, and I have ridden behind it when my dad and I swap bikes once in a while.
I actually pulled the baffles and removed the fiberglass wrap, gave a little more volume but they are by no means loud. There are other baffles available for them according to the V&H site (quiet and competition) but the stock ones sound great.
I run my radio all the time and have no issue hearing it at all. I can only assume the previous poster's buddy must have either modded baffles or no baffles installed.
This is not my video, but this is what sold me on them and I am extremely pleased with them. These are the ovals but they are essentially identical internally to the rounds.
Forgot I posted this video, this is my bike with the american racing header and monster rounds, try to not get seasick watching the video it's a bit shaky, taken by my 9 year old daughter riding with me.
I just ordered a set of V&H Power Duals to go with my 4" Rinehart slip-ons. Working on getting a tuner and AC now. I will report back on the sound. The 4" Rineharts already sound deep at idle but 4/5/6 gear it starts to get quiet.
I agree with Steve. I have the V&H Power Duals and Monster Ovals and they are anything but tinny. I've found that without the cat (V&H PDs) they will be louder than the first video that Steve posted - not obnoxiously so. In the 1st video the bike has stock headers. Mike's buddy must have something wrong in his setup to produce a tinny sound from that system.
