I use it all the time, I put an extended one on and it rests just behind the floorboard, gives me the whole fb for my boot and it's right there when I shift.
This is my first bike with heel-toe. I expected I would be yanking the rear lever after a while, but figured I would give it a chance. Now I really like it.
I turned the front lever over - so the offset is in toward the frame - and added an extended rear lever to give my size 12.5 gunboats more room. Most comfortable lever setup I have ever owned.
I'm trying to figger this one out.. just how does it put more stress on the shaft??
Because like someone has already posted some people stomp on the heel shifter like they are trying to kill a snake. This also may be a contributing factor in failures of the stock ball and socket shifter linkage.
Myself I love the heel shifter! After riding for 30 years with nothing but a toe shifter I bought a 97 Ultra and was sold on the heel shifter before the test ride was over!
