maybe ask your head guy.

hydraulic lifters use oil to attain their full length- if pressure problem or the lifters "bleed down" proper length is lost and parts'll clatter around

solid lifters are pretty much at length ( allow for expansion though) and stay at length but are not suitable for all cams--- and pretty much a hold-over from pre-historic days.

length; remember that expansion rates in an air cooled motor are more extreme than in a liquid cooled- the entire cylinder will grow "taller" as it warms and correct operating tolerances are reached ( which is why we don't want to hammer a cold motor, leaving off when the heads are warm to the touch and taking easy the first 5 or 10 minutes is good.

noise ? it is subjective.

for new riders they have trouble getting used to sitting on top of a motor and all the sensory experiences that come with that.

a windscreen/fairing will reflect extra noise back at you. thighs to the tank will help to block noise.

the best lifter is the one which will complement the cams chosen and the valve springs.
head guy should be able to help
