I'll bet you would. I lived on Vancouver Island for 15 years and got dry humped by ICBC every time I got insurance. It's just the way it is there. I was kind of insulted, I like to be kissed before I get screwed.
On my 06 ultra I pay just under $1100.00 per year. Live in Ontario.
In Saskatchewan I am paying 138.00 a month for my 05 FLHT that only covers collision, theft, fire and storage is on top of that.
So my basic insurance is 1656.00 per year.
I thought mine was bad - I have '11 SG 103 and State Farm hits me for $500 per year. That's with everything under the sun, and coverages maxed out to include $1M umbrella.
My insurance expires tonight, and I don't want to give ICBC $250.00 for the minimum 3 months coverage. I thought about doing a full years coverage with a monthly bill, but I won't get many days riding in over the winter.
I guess it will have to be the odd weekend permit for the next 5 months!
you dont have full year coverage? even if you don't ride it can get stolen or the garage can burn down.......not worth the risk.
Just a note. USAA doesn't provide motorcycle insurance directly. They push you to a segment of Progressive they have negotiated rates through for USAA customers.
That sucks. Talked to my attorney about some different insurance options last month. I know what you all are thinking, but whatever, I can so I will. His famous last words were If I wanted underinsured motorist coverage do not use Progressive. I don't remember the exact reason why, but this guy has been advising me on my business stuff for about 30 years and I like to run stuff like this by him. I figure insure companies have lawyers write up their stuff, I'm having mine decipher it. Last thing I need while I'm laying in the hospital is to find out I'm not covered because I failed to read or understand sentence #2 in subsection 233A, paragraph 6.
I absolutely hate insurance company's. I feel butt raped every month, between house, car, truck, bike, and health insurance I believe I am working to give them a pay check. I pay for 6 month coverage at a time, last session I got raped for the 150 dollar per vehicle for uninsured driver/cadistraghic(sp?) events increase. A 900 dollar a year increase. F-ME!

Come On 12/21/2012!!!!!
Yep, but I tell you what if you ever get in a serious wreck on your bike you'll be glad you have that underinsured/uninsured motorist add on. Most regular policies that people carry only pay up to 25K per person bodily injury. I can tell you that rebuilding a foot and ankle costs in the 200K range. Underinsured can go up to 300k.
I use USAA for my cages however they sent me to Progressive for my MC insurance, they said they don't do MCs. What am I missing? BTW, it's $447 per year in Vegas (full coverage) on the 10 Limited. Yes it is high but you have to consider that we are contending with, morons, drunks, etc.

As I stated a few posts back, I have my fire & theft and storage insurance through a private insurer, Beacon Insurance Underwriters. All riders in BC have to buy their basic comprehensive insurance from ICBC, and some of them buy their collision, fire & theft etc from ICBC also. ICBC charges 35-50% more than the private insurance companies for the additional coverage.
So.... although my ICBC comprehensive insurance has run out until I choose to renew it, I am covered by my Beacon insurance for fire, theft, storage etc.
