One of my throttle female contacts was not well inserted in the connector. I pushed it in with a toothpick and heard the 'clic' as it seated properly.
Before you look at the quality of the crimping, get hold of a jeweler's magnifying glass because as things get small they become simpler.
So... I dropped the bike off with the dealer in mid October.
They called... said I need to replace the computer along with replacing the tips for the connectors to the computer and to the throttle body.. Quote... 770 out the door.
I said yes.
Got the bike back 3.5 weeks later.... same day... all my issues were back!!!!!!!
Had the bike towed to Harley (since I had NO THROTTLE).....
They called a c ouple day later.. said they had it fixed. Replaced 1 wire........ I picked it up for 0 out the door.....
again... same issues.. limped back to Harley. This time... they called a couple days later... said they replaced 4 wires this time....
Wel... about 150 miles under my belt since last pick up.... and it works... GREAT!!!!!
Makes me wonder...... was the computer bad... or was it the 4 wires the WHOLE time??!?!?!??!?!?!?!
We wont even get into the idiot that was my first customer service rep... before they finally let someone else deal with me!!!
Glad she is finally fixed. Sometimes, you HAVE to spend money to chase a problem down. Sucks I know.....best thing you can do now, is pay the bill and put it out of your mind....what's past is past...move forward......you can enjoy the bike for a VERY long time now. Trade it in for a new bike in a couple of years, and you will have to work out the bugs on it.
One of the reasons I will keep my 2011....any bugs in mine are out now....13K+ miles and runs GREAT! Very happy with the bagger.
