Major THROTTLE issues.... please help!
If I were doing this myself, that is what I would expect.
But when you get charged for an electronic diagnostic, they should have isolated the problem.
If not, return the parts they installed ( you did get your old one’s back, didn’t you? ) and have them eat the labor for both swaps.
Weather this works with the dealer or not, that is how it should be.
IMHO.
They called... said I need to replace the computer along with replacing the tips for the connectors to the computer and to the throttle body.. Quote... 770 out the door.
I said yes.
Got the bike back 3.5 weeks later.... same day... all my issues were back!!!!!!!
Had the bike towed to Harley (since I had NO THROTTLE).....
They called a c ouple day later.. said they had it fixed. Replaced 1 wire........ I picked it up for 0 out the door.....
again... same issues.. limped back to Harley. This time... they called a couple days later... said they replaced 4 wires this time....
Wel... about 150 miles under my belt since last pick up.... and it works... GREAT!!!!!
Makes me wonder...... was the computer bad... or was it the 4 wires the WHOLE time??!?!?!??!?!?!?!
We wont even get into the idiot that was my first customer service rep... before they finally let someone else deal with me!!!
I agree to a point ...

I pay and tip those who wet their shirt to help but I refuse to pay for a trial & error exercise. Any technician should have swapped the ECU if the OP didn't have the opportunity to do it himself.
When you service computers/controllers in a factory, do you think you have money to buy without justification? The answer is NO.
Nevertheless I'm glad someone finally fixed this recurrent EFI issue for the OP who divulged the process of investigation in the forum.
Cheers

I am having the identical problems you described in your original post. Lurching and sputtering at 1/4 throttle and the bike putting out all different codes when running the diagnostics. LUCKILY, I bought the extended service plan about a year ago when these problems started. In that year, the dealer has replaced the intake seals, the fuel filter, a few connectors on the TPS, and the charging system, but the problems persisted. Today, as someone had suggested earlier in the thread, the tech swapped out an brand new ECM from a new bike and they said my bike ran great and wasn't putting out any more codes. So in the end, it was the ECM.
How is your bike running now?
