My JRI's were delivered yesterday. I don't have my calipers from Harbor Freight yet, so the install may be delayed until next week. I can say that the build quality of the shock is superior to anything I have seen. My last bike was a Road King, and I put a set of Race Tech G-2's (coil-over) shocks on it. They were nice, better than the stock shocks, but these look like high quality pieces of work. I may be cooped up here in CT for the weekend due to this freaking storm called Sandy coming up the east coast. I am planning on doing a review as soon as I get them on and some miles on them.
you can use a tape measure with mm on it till you get to harbor freight!
and btw, I cut down my caliper to about 18" because with an ultra the seat got in the way a little...
It's great to read a review of the varying high end shocks. I am going to be getting a set for my Dyna (gasp) and spoke to Howard already. I was not sure between the Ohlins and the JRI's but it seems JRI is the way to go. All I need now is the money. Thanks.
So Tim, for the front of your bike, are you saying you like the monotubes better than the intiminators, and why? I'm thinking of doing both ends of my bike this winter... Thanks, Joe
I am sending my forks to Jamie at Daugherty Motorsports for a complete revalve and respring using RaceTech emulators and springs for my weight. Total cost including parts and labor is $345.00. This guy is a whiz at suspension set ups and is reasonably priced. I have had my sportbike forks done by him and can not say enough good things about him. He also does shock rebuilds and resprings too.

I thought the Intiminators worked well , I liked the monotubes better , I hear the Intiminators with the mod from fabri8r are even better , I know guys running gold valve and they like them , I feel there are many options on the front even Traxxion if you want to spend a lot and they all get similar results , on the rear I think Ohlins and now JRI are leaps ahead of the field in quality and ride

Thanks! I will keep that in mind. If time permits between preparing for Stormageddon and weekend chores, I may try with the tape measure.
How do you like the Progressive Monotube compared to the Intiminators? I've got Race Tech Gold Tops and Springs in my forks and love the way they are now. Funny thing how stable the bike feels with the front wheel planted on the road!

I am running the intiminators and progressive multi rate lowered springs, not the best setup, I am going to go for a single rate spring over the winter, I just needed to get the bike lowered and it seemed like a good setup 2 years ago, now with the jri's I want to try something different..shooter is supposed to come to my house sunday to install his new jri's if frankenburgerstorm doesn't get in the way!
