I am having a true dual exhaust put on my streetglide with cfr slipons.
I would also like to change the intake..
Will i need a tuning device if i add the new intake?
Are the Harley intakes as good as most?
Thanks
Peace and Prayers
If you change the full exhaust and intake, then yes you will need a tuning device. For the money the Arlen Ness big sucker gives you the most bang for the buck.
2011 SG with Rhinehart 4" tru duals, screamin eagle intake and screamin eagle race tuner. A good combo that was installed by the dealer at my request, and I have not looked back. Bike runs great 2 years later.
Stick with the Harley upgraded AC. Some aftermarket big names have been known to crack right by their logo.
Several threads here in HDForums about it.
I just did a google search with "Arlen Ness big sucker cracking" and it's pretty wide spread.
As far as the tuner.....yes. I have ran both the Ness Big Sucker and the SE Heavy Breather. I have not had problems with either. Performance wise I do not notice any differences. Unless you go really big on the motor you, both of these will supply more than enough air.
