I have been buying Avon venom's on my last Harley's and they didn't last as long but they was sticky and my bike rode smoother over sharp bumps. I never had them on a Touring bike. I have 17000 on my King and the back tire looks bad, the front looks better.
I was going to buy Venom this winter but my Indy said Avon looks to be switching over to Cobras and he thinks Avon is going to drop the venom line. He said the Cobra looks like a good tire, they are radial but he thinks they my be a little harder compound.
I might give them a try this coming Summer. I hope they give a smoother ride like the Venom did.
