Default Looking for Stage 1 advice

After 10 weeks on the new Street Glide I'm at 2,400 miles and want to do the Stage 1. I know there are a lot of different opinions on the matter, but I would like to hear some advice from you guys.
The stealership is suggesting the V&H true duals and SERT. I have the Rhinehart 4" slip ons. My concerns are mostly with the headers and tuner.
Are the true duals the way to go? I know it is personal preference, but what are the pro's vs con's with the true duals in comparison to the V&H Power Duals and the V&H Dresser Duals?
I love the idea of more low end torque but I do not want to give up any power up on the highway at higher speeds. I also don't want it too loud that I can no longer hear the tunes up on the highway.
I won't be tuning the bike myself and plan to have it on the Dyno, is the SERT the best option for the tuner?

I have the True dulas and like them. I wanted the power duals, but the dealer said that they have had issues with those developing cracks at the point that they all come together.

MGS has a special on stage 1 upgrade kit. I got their true duals and love em. Bark nice deep and throaty when you get on em and when cruising they mellow out so I can hear the radio just fine. One of the best mods Ive done for my glide.
I wold suggest a tts mastertune for tuning if you want to tune it yourself. So many more variables to tune than a sert. JMO. If you go this route let me know and I can send you my tune file as a good base starting point.

I'm running the same pipes as you with a set of V&H Power duals and the HD heavy breather. Nice deep mellow sound and definitely tolerable at highway speeds. I also did the PC-V. Thinking of possibly going a different route later in regards to tunning when I do the cam upgrade.

Thanks for the advice guys. What is the difference between the True Duals and the Power Duals?

The power Duals are configured 2-1-2 with the X chamber which is supposed to give you some additonal HP. I have no facts to back that up so I will leave it at that. The true duals are 2-2 configuration. They say you loose back pressure with the duals so the power duals x chamber helps with that.

All I can say is that they do look awesome!

MGS true duals hacve a stepped header that is supposed to make up for that slight drop in torque or even add some hp. I came from a 2-1 performance pipe and I honestly cannot feel any loss in power or torque whatsoever. Quality fit and finish was excellent as was customer service.
MGS kits come with true duals, big sucker and PC-V with map for your bike. True duals have the best sound and with the stepped header for increased performance, they now offer the best of both worlds imho.
More info here.

Forgot to mention, they also have a monthly free give away you can enter. Theres a sticky at top of this touring forum, or you can sign up at their website.

That's what I thought. My concern with the True Duals is any loss of power at Highway speeds. I ride mostly 2 up and don't want to lose any torque. Do you have any pics?

Anthony, with MSG's kit do the Rhinehart's work with them? Also, what are the pros and cons of the PC-V vs SERT. I've had this bike a couple of months coming from an '04 carburated bike. The programmers are new to me. How difficult is it for a novice to electronics to install a PC-V to the bike myself? Does the PC-V stay on the bike?

I have the Rush True Duals mated to the SE 3-1/2" Street Performance Mufflers and don't have any issues with power loss. When I was doing my research as to which exhaust system to go with, I found out that it is critical that the correct diameter mufflers are used. Too large and you'll loose back pressure which is essential to scavenging for correct function.
